One obstacle after another was overcome by renowned architect Julia Morgan. In 1894, she was the only female student at Berkeley to get a degree in civil engineering.

Hedy Lamarr

she was a fantastic performer as well as a bright female inventor. When she wasn’t busy portraying a femme fatale with Clark Gable and Spencer Tracy, she invented encrypting signals to prevent enemy spies from listening in on important information. Wireless communication in our contemporary world would not exist without her.

This is simply a tiny sample of the exceptional women in engineering who molded the body of modern engineering. While this is not the only recognition of women as productive members of society, it does highlight their beneficial contribution in pre-male-dominated sectors.
